Released in Japan in 1999, Donkey Kong 64 takes the legendary Donkey Kong Country characters into a huge 3D adventure for the first time. Donkey Kong, Diddy, Lanky, Tiny and Chunky Kong must work together to stop King K. Rool, exploring expansive worlds, collecting Golden Bananas and taking on a huge variety of challenges along the way.

Each Kong has their own unique abilities and equipment, opening up different areas and challenges as you progress. Alongside the main adventure, Donkey Kong 64 features multiplayer modes, classic arcade games and plenty of collectables for players determined to uncover everything the game has to offer.

The Japanese version is particularly interesting for collectors as the original Japanese release of this Rare classic. Released in December 1999, it arrived shortly after the game’s North American and Australian releases and features Japanese text and menus.

It’s also an important piece of Nintendo 64 history: Donkey Kong 64 was the first Nintendo 64 game to require the Expansion Pak to play, although some Japanese retail versions were sold without the Expansion Pak.

Please note: this is a Japanese NTSC-J cartridge and requires compatible Japanese or region-compatible Nintendo 64 hardware to play. An Expansion Pak is also required to play the game.
