Star Twins (1999) – Nintendo 64 (Japanese Version) – Cartridge Only

Take on an intergalactic invasion with Star Twins, Rare’s action-packed Nintendo 64 adventure known internationally as Jet Force Gemini.

Released in Japan in 1999, Star Twins follows the Jet Force Gemini team — twins Juno and Vela and their robotic dog Lupus — as they battle the invading Drone army of the evil Mizar. Travel across a huge range of planets, rescue the enslaved Tribal population and take on Mizar’s forces using an expanding arsenal of weapons.

Each of the three playable characters brings their own abilities to the adventure. Juno can withstand extreme heat, Vela can explore underwater areas and Lupus brings his own unique movement abilities, giving you different ways to approach the game’s expansive environments.

Developed by Rare, Star Twins combines third-person shooting with exploration, platforming and plenty of collectables. There are numerous weapons to discover, challenging enemies to overcome and a huge number of Tribals to rescue across the game’s worlds.

The Japanese release is particularly interesting for collectors because the game was given the title Star Twins, rather than Jet Force Gemini. It was released by Nintendo in Japan on 1 December 1999, shortly after the North American and European versions.

The game also features multiplayer modes for up to four players and supports the Nintendo 64 Rumble Pak.

Please note: this is a Japanese NTSC-J cartridge and requires compatible Japanese or region-compatible Nintendo 64 hardware to play. The game features Japanese text and menus.

A Rare classic with a different identity in Japan, Star Twins is a great addition to any Nintendo 64, Rare or Japanese import collection.
