Build your perfect battle machine and take on rival robots in Custom Robo V2, one of the most unique Japanese-exclusive games in the Nintendo 64 library.

Released exclusively in Japan in 2000, Custom Robo V2 is the second and final Custom Robo game released for the Nintendo 64. Developed by Noise and published by Nintendo, it combines action RPG elements, robot customisation and fast-paced 3D battles into a surprisingly deep experience.

Choose your Custom Robo, equip it with different weapons and battle parts, then head into arenas to take on opponents. Winning battles allows you to unlock new robots, weapons and equipment, giving you plenty of options to customise your fighting style.

The game features two main story scenarios, Tabidachi-hen and Gekitou-hen, alongside training and multiplayer modes. It also introduced 2-on-2 battles and four-player multiplayer to the series, making it one of the more substantial multiplayer experiences in the Japanese N64 library.

Never released in Australia, North America or Europe, Custom Robo V2 is a genuine Japanese-exclusive Nintendo 64 release and a fascinating example of the games that never made it out of Japan. The series wouldn’t receive an official Western release until Custom Robo: Battle Revolution on GameCube in 2004.

The game features Japanese text and menus. An understanding of Japanese will be helpful, particularly for the story and customisation systems.

Please note: this is a Japanese NTSC-J cartridge and requires compatible Japanese or region-compatible Nintendo 64 hardware to play.

A fantastic choice for collectors who love obscure Nintendo releases, robot battles and discovering the stranger corners of the N64 library.
