Excitebike 64 (2000) – Nintendo 64 (Japanese Version) – Cartridge Only

Kick up the dirt and take to the track with Excitebike 64, Nintendo’s 3D evolution of one of its most iconic racing series.

Developed by Left Field Productions and published by Nintendo, Excitebike 64 takes the classic NES formula into fully 3D motocross racing. Race across stadium tracks and outdoor courses, launch off huge jumps and master a range of tricks as you compete for the fastest times.

There’s much more to the game than simply getting from the starting line to the finish. Choose from six different riders, each with their own characteristics, and learn more than a dozen tricks including heel clickers, cliffhangers and bar hops. Timing your jumps and landing cleanly is just as important as keeping your bike under control.

With 20 stadium and outdoor courses, multiple racing modes and a full course editor, there’s plenty to keep coming back to. You can even create your own tracks and then challenge friends to race them.

And for a little extra Nintendo nostalgia, Excitebike 64 includes the original NES Excitebike as an unlockable bonus, giving this sequel a direct connection to the game that started it all.

The Japanese release launched on 23 June 2000 and features the Japanese version of the game, including Japanese menus and presentation. While this is an authentic Japanese release, the game was also released internationally, so it is not a Japanese exclusive.

Please note: this is a Japanese NTSC-J cartridge and requires compatible Japanese or region-compatible Nintendo 64 hardware to play.

An underrated N64 racer with plenty of speed, tricks and multiplayer fun — a great addition to any Nintendo 64 collection.
