Mickey no Racing Challenge USA (2001) – Nintendo 64 (Japanese Version) – Cartridge Only

Get behind the wheel with Mickey and friends in Mickey no Racing Challenge USA, Rare’s colourful take on kart racing for the Nintendo 64.

Released in Japan in 2001, this is the Japanese version of Mickey’s Speedway USA, bringing Disney’s biggest characters together for a fast-paced racing adventure across America.

After the Weasels kidnap Pluto, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and friends set off on a cross-country chase to rescue him. Race through a variety of American-themed locations, collect power-ups and use some wonderfully ridiculous weapons to gain the advantage over your rivals.

Developed by Rare, the game has plenty in common with Diddy Kong Racing, with responsive kart handling, colourful tracks and a strong emphasis on multiplayer. There are 20 courses across five Grand Prix events, alongside Time Trial, Adventure and multiplayer modes, with support for up to four players.

The Japanese version is particularly fun for collectors thanks to its original Japanese title, Mickey no Racing Challenge USA, and Japanese packaging, menus and text. It was released in Japan on 21 January 2001.

Please note: this is a Japanese NTSC-J cartridge and requires compatible Japanese or region-compatible Nintendo 64 hardware to play.

A colourful Rare-developed racer, a Disney classic and a great four-player addition to any Nintendo 64 collection.
