Hit the road with MRC: Multi-Racing Championship, an early Nintendo 64 racing game from Japanese developer Genki.

Originally released in Japan in 1997, MRC puts you behind the wheel of a range of road and off-road vehicles, racing across courses that feature different terrain, weather conditions and branching routes. With 10 vehicles to discover, there’s plenty of room to experiment with different setups and find the car that suits your driving style.

One of the game’s more interesting features is its vehicle customisation. You can adjust everything from tyres and brakes to suspension, steering, transmission and aerodynamics, allowing you to tune your car to suit different road conditions.

There are three main courses — Sea Side, Mountain and Downtown — each featuring multiple routes and mirrored versions to unlock. Championship, Time Trial and Free Run modes offer different ways to tackle the tracks, while two-player VS racing lets you compete head-to-head.

The Japanese version was released by Imagineer on 18 July 1997, several weeks before the North American release and a few months before the Australian and European versions. It features the original Japanese title, packaging and Japanese text.
